Verde – 44 Nelson Street
Client: Verde Properties
In the heart of Mackay’s CBD, Verde is a commercial project that spans over 7,000 square-metres. With 6 levels including ground, the building was quickly secured as home to a large consolidated portion of the Queensland Government who has leased all floors until 2025.
The site’s central location is highly accessible and close to many facilities, including: The Convention Centre, library, childcare services, retail, cafes, restaurants and bars. The proximity to these amenities secures the building’s future as a sought-after commercial property in Mackay.
To increase usability of the project, our designs include a large multi-storey carpark with space for over 165 cars. The carpark was designed in conjunction with the building and will help to reduce the project’s impact on the surrounding CBD.
ML Design were chosen to deliver this integrated design solution based on our ability to collaborate and deliver strategic outcomes. Through collaborating with key stakeholders, we were able to deliver a solution that will remain a key building in Mackay’s CBD for years to come.
When undertaking this project, ML Design focused on delivering an energy efficient and functional building that also featured a unique eye-catching design. We kept in mind the commercial purpose of the building and worked to deliver a solution that creates a great space to work in.
To make the most of the picturesque Queensland landscape, our design features extensive glazing and external green accents that add a unique boldness to the building. These design features help the building complement its surrounds, while offering a distinctive building typology in Mackay’s CBD.
ML Design’s integrated solution delivered a project that meets the Property Council of Australia’s ‘A’ Grade office rating and has a 5-star green star rating as built. We included a range of features that are designed to maximise energy and water efficiency, reduce emissions and create a healthy indoor office environment for occupants.
